Second 4K Panasonic Camera Workshop

 Second 4K Panasonic Camera Workshop

Introduction
Last Friday was the second exercise task using the 4K Panasonic camera as a group this time, for it was an important time for us as a group to problem solve and test our framing, audio, and tone of Sydney as doing the job role of the Anchor. From doing this exercise, this truly was rushed and with having only very little time. This process was a problem, with one of the types of equipment, which was one of the most important parts to help us with the exercise, having difficulty trying to work from a software problem.

What Went Well/ What Have I Learnt
I believed it was helpful for the rest of the group, to experience and use the 4K Panasonic for the first time and weather deciding that the camera could be used for our green screen shoot during the production stage. The others in the group were impressed with the stunning 4K quality of the camera and how professional it looked as well. I was satisfied with Sydney's appearance, with regards to her dress code, and looking professional for the test shoot. Also, it gives the team, some thinking of how Sydney can dress smartly and professionally when we come around to film the green screen sequence, and all based on our upcoming tone and style of our subject and targeted audience demographic. With the main problem we were having, I felt the rest of the team were feeling patient when myself and Fergus were trying to solve the technical issue and I kept on updating the rest of the team what progress we were trying to make. We filmed over seven takes, for the first few with some outtakes moments, and finally, the seventh and final take I felt satisfied to move on with more test shoots to develop with using audio and lighting. However, those developments didn't have the opportunity to happen. Which, I shall mention in the next paragraph and along with the technical issue myself and Fergus were having.

Even Better If/ What Could Have Gone Better
To start off with the technical issue, we got to use the Tablet with our script for use as a reflection for Sydney to read and only for introducing our two main stories, however, as my group was waiting inside the green screen room, I and Fergus were having difficulty trying to transfer the document of the script onto the software for our exercise task. We tried sharing the document from my groups shared one drive to my UCA email and download the document onto the app software for the tablet. It was a failure downloading, then we tried emailing the document again to Furgus email instead and downloaded the document as a text form. However, Sam came into the room and managed to solve the problem in the end and I honestly couldn't remember the full picture. I do remember though, it had to do with a settings problem on the software and then I rushed back into the green screen room and we officially started filming some test shoots. Another moment that could have gone better, as I wanted to focus more on the audio side, for using a clip microphone to put onto Sydney and use some LED lights for some front, side, and backlights. Unfortuenly, by the time we filmed the seven takes, the group hit a brick wall and was prepared to leave the studios, I felt disappointed in them as the director and producer of the team's project. I should have asked politely my team if they could have stayed a little bit longer and I would have been a lot more satisfied if we focused more on the lighting and audio elements. This could have been a breakthrough, for us to know what type of LED lighting and audio adjustments we would want to use for the main shoot. I am sure though, that the group will be thinking to include the audio and lighting, and as the producer and director of the project, I will be making sure we make that development when the production week happens.

Conclusion
In conclusion, if the software issue never happened I would have thought my team would have done more takes and develop the exercise of using the LED lights and clip microphone on Sydney. I am satisfied to have heard and known, that the group is happy enough to use the 4K Panasonic for when the green screen production shoot happens and I think now the next step is using some background effects for testing and using After Effects for that process as well.
