Directors Statement - “Prisoners”

Synopsis: Prisoners is story about lost, family and guilt. The plot is about two young girls that gets abducted and the families who are related to the two girls, predict that they were kidnapped by a young guy named Alex Jones and who owns a creepy and dirty RV, and Jones himself has an IQ of a ten year old. Keller Dover (the father of one the girls), goes to kidnap Alex Jones and starts to interrogate and torture Jones about the two missing girls, and which turns Keller into a broken, dangerous and violent character. Blaming himself all the time that he is not rescuing, finding and being their for his daughter. Loki a Detective, starts to investigate the case of the two missing girls and goes into a puzzled, confusing and personal case about the two missing girls, the history of  certain and investigated families, and why it’s a much more complicated case then he’s anticipated.

The Vision Genre/Tone: The genre of the plot is a crime, drama, mystery and even a psychological thriller. It’s a tone that will make the audiences feel afraid of what some of the characters can and will do, to go into more in depth of where the plot will take them, and in some of the most unpredictable and brutalist circumstances events to come. It is also a plot that has a very relevant and horrifying experience that has happened, to human beings about a family member being lost, gone missing and not knowing how the horrifying experience will have a good ending or not at all. It’s a journey to the unknown and a constant thought that certain characters will think and make tough decisions of how far will they go up until the end.

Considering though it has a theme about family very specifically and importantly, about the plot of two young girls going missing, Keller Dover as a father and husband trying to do his job, thinking he is not being a father, and the film can also be aimed at individuals with problems for their emotional wellbeing. Lawrence has also has quite a long term in acting in the past and is always energetic in the production process. The third actor is Reena Dusila, Reena is based very near around the locations and is known very well as a professional actor and wants to be given some more acting experience and is very much looking forward to be playing as Grace Dover. 1. I really like the concept of your film and the way you describe the feeling and vibe of the whole production, it's extremely clear the feel and tone you are going after. The location pictures you have used, I feel are perfect for the story you're telling and already create the atmosphere and build tension. I also feel you have clearly stated and understand the genre of the film and how the loss of a family member would tear someone apart and cause them to act violently. I would liked to of heard about the colour palettes you are choosing to use throughout, if you are looking to go for the darker tones to create tension. I would off also liked to have known about the filming approach you are taking, what kind of shots and vision you have for the production. Overall, I really enjoyed reading about your piece. You and your film are hired!!!
