Steven Knight is best known for his work as a TV screenwriter, TV director and even a film director. Creator of Peaky Blinders (2013 -), The Detectives (1993 - 1997), Taboo (2017) and coming out soon by the end of this year, A Christmas Carol (TV mini series). He is even one of the creators of the game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (1998 -). His recent work is the new Apple TV Original drama, series "See"staring Jason Momoa and Peaky Blinders series 5 staring Cillian Murphy.

How Steven Knight's work has interested and developed my project - CHARACTERS

For enjoying the majority of his drama TV shows and that are set in a period time, Steven Knight always seems to create unforgettable, clever and even dangerous characters.

In Peaky Blinders as an example Cillian Murphy's plays the main character named Tommy Shelby. A very mature, powerful, brave, clever and sometimes dangerous. He is a character that knows the inns and out of the business he is in and the gangster world as well. By knowing his surroundings very well. This is a character who starts from the very bottom of his family business and to the top of becoming a powerful, rich and known person to the gangster world he is living in. Always making more and more dangerous enemies.

In another example the drama, thriller series Taboo staring Tom Hardy, Hardy plays the main character of the series named James Keziah Delaney. A characters whose very disturbed, brave, very dangerous and always comes the terms of using violence for any end result. He is a character that's on a journey of revenge and power when returning to a changed London society.

From Knight's writing perspective, he truly knows how to create and develop very interesting characters and knows how to make them into real people as well. You can also tell when a character first appears in the programme you can experience and witness from their body language, personality and of course the creation by Knight of what type of character he or she will be through the plot and story of the TV show. I very much appreciate how Steven Knight has created these certain characters to support and develop my project and further future short films, i would like to create in these certain genres. Particularly a drama or thriller.
