Postproduction Notes - Prisoners (DIRECTIONS UNIT)
POST - PRODUCTION NOTES
Being given very positive feedback and ready to move on to the final cut, their was of course some changes to be made.
1. Cross Dissolve Improvements
Using the cross dissolve video transition from one shot to the next shot, felt very rushed and would of been a more an inappropriate tool to been presented to the audiences. The video below shows the differences between having the "cross dissolve" transition on, and afterwards not using the transition.
It shows two very different emotions, outcomes for the audiences to experience two completely tones, and i feel taking out the cross dissolve transition makes the pacing of my film has more of an overall appropriate pace and atmosphere.
2. Cutting Breathing Space Out From Dialogue Moments For Continuity
For a second element from my feedback of the rough cut, was having to cut out in one particular scene full of dialogue between three of the characters, and the scene itself was having quite a lot of breathing space between the characters.
By not having much shown of continuity, making the audiences having a predicable awareness of knowing when the next character shall be continuing the conversation. The video below shows myself cutting out the breathing space between the characters and trying to show more of an unpredictable feel when the characters show the continuous dialogue moment, for the audiences to experience this scene of the tension building and the continuity.
