UCA Television Production - Framing/ 180 Degree Rule - Camera Workshop

- From last Fridays camera workshop on working with the 180 degree rule and capturing different emotions with along working with an individual.

THE 180 DEGREE RULE

WWW- What Went Well - I felt that i had the patience and coverage of capturing more then one take and instead of not rushing this time. I wanted to make sure i was satisfied with my chosen shots, making sure i didn't go over the 180 degree line rule and also making sure the two individuals were comfortable and confident with them getting into character.

EBI - Even Better If - With the previous workshops not using the tripod that much, i still did not have that confidence using the tripod, however i only used the tripod for capturing the wide and two shots. When i filmed the over the shoulders shots of the individuals, i only used that as handheld instead. Next time in terms of using appropriate shots for the tripod i shall try to have more confidence inside of me and i must also have confidence of using what film tripods have on them. By also capturing professional and atmospheric shots.

DIFFERENT FRAMES/ EMOTIONS

WWW- WHAT WENT WELL  I think that i took my time filming all of the different shots, by trying to bring in the pacific emotions and tones for the audiences to experience. Working with the individual really put in a lot of effort and patience of keeping still, performing a emotion and keeping a straight, emotion face to the camera. In terms of editing i felt that i chose the right music and colour to suit with the tone.

EBI- Even Better If From the previous task of not using the tripod quite often, i personally think that a lot of these shots could been as well appropriate on the tripod. As from the filming some of the shots were quite shaky, however in editing i managed to cut out the shaky cam shots and by taking my time, i managed to capture some good shots overall.

Summary- In terms of still not having that small part of confidence using the tripod, i believe both the tasks from last Friday's workshop went very well. I worked with another hardworking individuals, having the patience of going for more then one take, not rushing and trying to take all of this process in as a fun activity. By also getting used to using the equipment for further developments.
