Brainstorming the title and meaning of the poem "Life Doesn't Frighten Me"

My own interpretation inspiration & brainstorming on the poem

Friday 4th December 2020 - Beginning on the assignment on Fiction Adaptation, I decided to start brainstorming on the poem I had chosen and I had picked the poem called "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" by Maya Angelou. I very much enjoyed reading the poem by Angelou and by reading it more than once, I was thinking of my own interpretation and I was for rough ideas focusing on the theme based on the year 2020. In the second picture above, I was brainstorming on one side of the negative side of 2020 and on the other side thinking about the healthy sides of how an individual can think and come up with strategies to keep themselves positive, strong, and healthy during a very unpredictable and strange year it has been for everyone. I had mainly thought, about focusing on a specific character/ individual with the struggles and anxieties against the media, social media, the isolation of an internal conflict against the individual's self, and many more other elements to think about. On the positive side, I wrote down the positive strategies trying to fight against the negative aspects, with taking deep breaths, pets, exercise, and the beauty of nature that is outside our internal conflicts. I've chosen this working progress idea, because of the personal effect this whole year has been on me and of course everyone else around the world and from Maya's wording and language, I've experienced for it is a poem about trying to keep staying strong against our demons and problems we have in our lives and from a personal experience this year, I would be interested in working on a theme about 2020 and how to send a message about not being afraid of life in that topic.

Wednesday 9th December 2020 -  After doing some brainstorming and thought on creating a story about isolation for an internal and external conflict, I decided to type up a treatment/ project proposal before concluding the first term and heading into the Christmas break. The entire process took me nearly an entire day and when I concluded after finishing the third act, I did feel quite satisfied with my three-act story presentation, however, I may make changes with regards to the current situation and with getting filming permission of where the start of the third act takes place inside a woods. Also, I shall be thinking about the change for the text moment between the protagonist and the friend, which takes place during the third act. I am not feeling completely confident with regards to its execution and the emotion of two friends communicating by text/ iPhone, it would be interesting for an alternative route of changing it for the protagonist receiving a voice mail instead. Still, these are changes that of course can happen, even if I use the text message moment in the script, it still can be changed when my production begins and I can mention the change in the final cut and for the project evaluation. With regards to the rest of the scenes, moments, and elements I am feeling very confident about how I am going to film, edit, experiment, and be creative with my short fiction film.
