Production Paperwork Storyboard & Shot List (DOCUMENTARY UNIT)
PRODUCTION PAPERWORK
Storyboard & Shot List
Storyboard
Opening Statement
To continue on my production paperwork, i wanted to create my own storyboard of what i aim to try and achieve from my filmmaking and directing skills, based on our concept on introverts and extroverts. Once again, with a weakness in drawing, i felt it would be important to create a new storyboard as part of the pre - production process and to not think every scene, shot and interview needs to be in complete detail in terms of drawing wise and more about the specifics and the important moments i want to achieve for my groups documentary and from shot wise, scene description and other coverage elements.
When it comes to showing instead of telling, i have felt that by drawing small and interesting parts on the storyboard would show support for when production shoot comes to day and by not having to draw every single detail based from the location, contributors, shots and interview set ups. I have felt also that i have described in enough detail of what shots i want to require and to try and capture, making them look possible and believing it can create a type of documentary style and tone based on our concept. Once again, not thinking doing a storyboard is meant to be challenging and is just another supportive tool before production shoot comes to present.
I believe i could of taken more time of the drawing and taking the process into a fun activity. As i mentioned though that drawing is not one of my strengths, however i am proud of still trying to improve more on this pre - production stage. I could of printed out more pages, to draw and show more angles from the same focus point on the specific contributor, however on the day of filming i may come up with more shots that i didn't include into my storyboard. Once again from previous experience, i could of improved on drawing individuals and try and ask other individuals if they could understand what is on the different boxes.
Conclusion
In conclusion, this has yet been another helpful and supportive pre - production and working progress element. I do still find this pre production paperwork part difficult because of my weakness in drawing, however if i keep on making more storyboards for any type of filmmaking, i can try and believe it shall improve a lot more. If i just keep on having more trust and faith into myself. Overall though, i do take this paperwork part as a positive element for when it comes to coming up and problem solving interesting shots and scenes for near future films.
Shot List
Opening Statement
For another pre - production paperwork element is creating the storyboard and once again this is a storyboard for when i am creating my film side of the concept for the documentary. For this being a shot list for a documentary, i needed to include a bit more detail of using the contributors names and showing if they are a introvert or a extrovert. These shots, are the same amount of information that i have presented compared to my storyboard as well. This has yet again been another supportive tool when organising for when production shoot comes to present.

What Went Well
I do very much enjoy coming up with shots for a directing and director of photography's perspective. I have felt that i have shown a appropriate enough of detail from the multiple boxes and from a professional and personal opinion i believe these shots can be possible to capture and by doing a location recce, i can see having the opportunities to really execute some fantastic shots. In my opinion, the shot list looks very professional and simple looking to know what is needed to be completed from each shot and i do not think the shot list looks unprofessional or complicated for myself and the contributors to see and know what shots i am going to need to require from their participations.
